CAS – Medical Accelerators

The CERN Accelerator School (CAS) will hold a course on medical accelerators from 15-26 June 2026 in Jurmala, Latvia. In collaboration with Riga Technical University, this course focuses on profound and widespread accelerator applications in medicine, particularly in oncology and nuclear medicine. By bridging the communities of accelerator science and medical physics, it will provide a comprehensive overview of the field from both technological and clinical perspectives. BoneOscopy project coordinator Prof. Joao Seco will hold a lecture on “Imaging (for hadron therapy and radioisotopes)” on Monday, 22 June 2026, from 8:30-9:30am during the course.
