SUMMARY:ECMP2026 conference
DESCRIPTION:ECMP2026 conference\nFrom 23 to 26 September 2026, the 6th European Congress of Medical Physics (ECMP 2026) took place in Valencia, Spain. Organised by the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) and hosted by the Spanish Society of Medical Physics (SEFM), the biennial congress brings together medical physicists, researchers, clinicians and technology experts from across Europe to exchange knowledge and advance the profession.\nHeld under the theme “Advancing Healthcare through Physics: Bridging Science and Patient Care for a Sustainable Future”, ECMP 2026 covered a broad range of topics relevant to modern medical physics, including radiotherapy, proton and ion beam therapy, medical imaging, radiobiology, biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, data science and sustainable healthcare technologies. The programme combined scientific sessions, refresher courses, workshops and professional discussions, including dedicated sessions on the physics, technology and biology of clinical proton and ion beam therapy.\nBoneOscopy partner CSIC was represented by Eva Montbarbon from i3M-CSIC, whose participation provided an opportunity to engage with the European medical physics community and exchange knowledge relevant to the project’s work on prompt gamma detection, detector development and particle therapy.\nThe congress was particularly relevant for BoneOscopy because the project combines medical physics, detector technologies, particle radiation therapy and treatment monitoring to develop a new approach for tracking changes in metastatic bone cancer during treatment. Participation in ECMP supports exchange with researchers and clinical experts working on complementary technologies and helps connect the project with wider developments in European medical physics.\nMore information: ECMP 2026 ( https://ecmp2026.efomp.org/?utm_source=chatgpt.com ) | ECMP 2026 programme ( https://ecmp2026.efomp.org/program/?utm_source=chatgpt.com )\n
