SUMMARY:Joint AAPM / COMP Annual Meeting & Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Joint AAPM / COMP Annual Meeting & Exhibition\nFrom 19 to 22 July 2026, the Joint AAPM | COMP Annual Meeting & Exhibition took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, Canada. Organised by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) together with the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP), the annual meeting is a major international event for the medical physics community, bringing together researchers, clinicians, educators and industry representatives.\nThe programme covered a broad range of topics across medical imaging, radiation therapy, quantitative imaging, particle therapy, clinical practice and emerging technologies, alongside technical exhibitions and professional networking opportunities. The meeting also included dedicated scientific and working-group sessions, such as the Particle Therapy Subcommittee and the Working Group on the Physics of Quantitative Imaging.\nThe German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) was represented by Prof. Matthias Kachelrieß, who contributed two presentations:\n\nCBCT with single-view temporal resolution\nIodine in photon-counting CT\n\nHis participation provided an opportunity to contribute DKFZ expertise in advanced medical imaging to the wider international medical physics community and to exchange with researchers working on new approaches to imaging and radiation-based medicine.\nFor BoneOscopy, participation in a meeting of this kind is particularly relevant because the project brings together medical physics, particle radiation therapy, detector technologies and treatment monitoring to develop a new approach for monitoring metastatic bone cancer during therapy.\nMore information: AAPM | COMP Annual Meeting 2026 ( https://site.aapm.org/annual-meeting/2026-annual-meeting?utm_source=chatgpt.com ) | DKFZ conference contributions 2026 ( https://www.dkfz.de/roentgenbildgebung-und-computertomographie/konferenzbeitraege-2026?utm_source=chatgpt.com )\n
